What is Inclusion?
Inclusion done well! What is Co-Teaching and Inclusion?
It is when a general education teacher and a special education teacher work together with groups of students and share the planning, organization, delivery, and assessment of instruction, as well as physical space. So, who is my child’s teacher? Both of Us! What are the benefits? Increased teacher time and attention. Alternate methods of teaching. Students learn from the strengths of two teachers instead of just one. Students become peer models and increase sense of belonging and community. All kids can learn, have fun, contribute, and have strengths! |
